Michael is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, with over 9 years of extensive nursing experience in the mental health field. He has treated clients with depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychosis, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, ADHD and substance use disorder (including alcohol, meth, opiates, benzo and more). Michael serves clients of all ages with mental health and substance use problems in the Forney community - child, adolescents, adults, and older adults with Humane Psychiatry through his private telehealth practice.

 

Michael’s previous position was the Director of Behavioral Health and Substance Use Services for an FQHC in Brownwood, Texas. In this role, he created and implemented a MAT (medication assisted treatment) program to serve the surrounding communities of Brownwood Texas. Michael also worked with Basepoint Psychiatry and Wellness in Forney Texas. 

 

His education and degrees include: Master of Science degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse/Nursing from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Midwestern State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies at the Texas Southern University and Pre-Nursing Studies at The University of Texas at Arlington. 

 

Michael is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and holds a certification in Basic Life Support (BLS - not intended for post-nominal use).
